Why I'm standing
I want to work with other newly-elected members to greatly improve the quality of decision-making on our council. I want a council that residents see as efficient, reliable, and helpful. A council that listens to its residents, a council that avoids wasteful spending, and a council that is seen to work for every corner of the district.
About me
I have a mix of experience in the rural sector and in central government. I am a policy expert with extensive experience in government management and leadership, including fiscal management. In the past, I have brought together teams that get the job done and that operate in a friendly cooperative way. I can work with a wide range of people, and I am a good listener.
My priorities
- Deal with the rates fiasco of the past year.
- Provide efficient services in a customer-friendly manner to all parts of the district.
- Respectful consultation with residents, community boards and mana whenua.
