Why I'm standing

I have decided to stand again as I believe that significant change is taking place rapidly and often without the time to consult with our ratepayer. Thus it is vital that there is continuity of representation. I have the time, skills and knowledge to participate effectively in local government and help continue to make Southland a desirable place to live and work as well enabling access to great recreation activities

About me

I have lived in the Central Southland area for over forty years and I am familiar with the issues and strengths in my community. I have a law degree and social work qualifications which have assisted me as a public servant to have a successful management career in the heath, welfare and education areas. I also have significant governance experience in the education and social service arena and in my local community.

My priorities
  1. Work with the changes that will need to occur with the introduction of the Three Waters legislation.
  2. Identify opportunities to work alongside the other local bodies to avoid duplication reduce costs.
  3. Have in place and efficient and effective council that listens and responds to our communities.
