Taumarunui-Ōhura Community Board

The Taumarunui-Ōhura Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Ruapehu District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: five members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Ruapehu District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Taumarunui-Ōhura Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I am worried that Ōhura and other small towns will lose their voice. Everyone deserves to be heard.

About me

I have been in the area more than 20 years, I'm family focused and run a small business. I am able to handle the pressures that community board will bring. I have the time to focus on bettering my community both for my family and the future of the residents.

My priorities
  1. Family focused, we need shade, water and free places for our families to gather and play all year.
  2. Community inclusion, our elders need help with access to services that are not digitally-based.
  3. Council accountability, we need more transparency around projects, timelines as well as repairs.
