The Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support safe cycling by delivering the Southern Lights cycleway and local cycle connections to Westmorland, St Martins, Somerfield and Beckenham.

    Expand the slow-speed neighbourhoods programme and advocate for it to include 30km speed limits and traffic calming measures.

  • Invest in rapid mass transport to create a functional public transport system coupled with a significant step towards decarbonisation.

    Fast track our remaining major cycle ways (MCRs) and the secondary networks to connect our communities with schools and key destinations.

    Create living streets that provide safe spaces for cars, bikes, pedestrians and kids walking to school. Improve safety for all road users.

  • Advocate for more and better buses serving our community.
