The Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Advocate for a world class replacement facility for the Christchurch South Library.

    Fight to keep library services in the area while the South Library is out of action.

    Promote the amazing arts, culture and heritage sector so more people know what's happening.

  • Rebuild the South Library with low-carbon materials and ensure public access to library services during the rebuild.

    Advocate for the upgrade of public toilets and changing rooms across the ward, especially in Somerfield Park.

    Investigate creating a new community art liaison role, to work with communities to create suburban public artworks that reflect local values.
