Why I'm standing

There is much now known about how to make cities and neighbourhoods great places to live in, and it isn't about having maximum convenience. Christchurch is a major New Zealand city and is growing rapidly, without using the above knowledge, the city could become a difficult and unpleasant place to live in. So my passion is to ensure that as the city changes, it changes for the better. It's about smart growth.

About me

I am a scientist by training who also studied economics. For many years I was a business development manager in a Crown Research Institute, using research programs to help food businesses get into exporting. I went on overseas trade missions and represented NZ on a trade-governing body. My wish now is to use my skills to help our city become a fabulous place to live in. I have been doing that for two terms already.

My priorities
  1. Protect and restore the Ihutai Estuary and the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River for our enjoyment of nature.
  2. Create more enjoyable recreational spaces and village centres within our suburbs for everyone.
  3. Complete the Christchurch Coastal Pathway – It will be such an important asset when finished.
