Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). Two councillors will be elected from the Waikato constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Waikato Regional Council election.

  • Increase communities' abilities to make biodiversity corridor connections from mountain to mountain to sea and doing more pest management.

More emphasis on resource consent compliance monitoring, it is easier and cheaper to prevent things from becoming broken than fixing them.

I will have Waikato Regional Council look at cost savings being made in environmental monitoring. Costs to monitor things to death do nothing to fix them.

  • Support policies and actions that reduce or eliminate invasive pest species to protect our flora and fauna.

Apply environmental monitoring, reporting and enforcement across the region in an equitable and fair manner.

Collaborate with Hamilton City and District Councils on waste management and minimisation by providing regional facilities for recycling.
