Waikouaiti Coast Community Board

The Waikouaiti Coast Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.   • Continue to support the relationship between the community board and community.

    Ensure a close connection is maintained between council and the community board to make sure our voice is in the decision making process.

    Further grow and maintain close relationships with all community groups, ensure we are always available to listen, support and advocate.

  • Maintain formal and informal liaison with Kati Huirapa ki Puketeraki.

    Extend use of social media to promote board activities and encourage feedback.

  • Establish better mechanisms for assessing local views on what is needed in each community.

    Work with local groups to assist in achieving their goals, particularly when Dunedin City Council and ORC polices are involved.

    Communicate more effectively what the community board can do and find out what local communities want.
