Waimakariri District Council
The Waimakariri District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Four councillors will be elected from the Rangiora-Ashley ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I'm a servant of the community and am committed to working towards a leaving the Waimakariri a little better than the great district it is now.

As a manager at New World, a volunteer firefighter and St John youth leader I engage with our community every day. Working hard to achieve your wants, willingly responding to your needs and experiencing the joy of seeing our future grow and learn. My faith has taught me to serve, putting you and your families before myself, and how to act on my convictions, both being at the heart of what I do.
My priorities
- Intergenerational equity in all matters but primarily regarding financing our projects.
- Encourage community engagement in decisions being made.
- Put the local back in local government.
