Waimakariri District Council

Rangiora-Ashley Ward

The Waimakariri District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Four councillors will be elected from the Rangiora-Ashley ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. First elected in 1998 and after 24 years experience I am still as passionate now as then for our district.

About me

My full time employer will not allow me to identify it but been fully involved in community matters for years. I have no political alliance.

My priorities

Introduce a district wide drainage scheme. We have several drainage areas not covering the district.
Rangiora eastern bypass to relieve pressure on Southbrook Road.
Southbrook pavilion is not fit for purpose, replace it with something that is.
