Pirongia-Kakepuku General Ward

The Waipā District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Two councillors will be elected from the Pirongia-Kakepuku General ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am rural ward councillor with knowledge and experience in that area. I am passionate to preserve our open spaces.

About me

Due to experience, I am well know in all my communities. Because Kakepuku is now included I will do my best to represent that area and their concerns.

My priorities

Ensure our rural spread is restricted to planned developments.
Keep control on rates. I am fully aware the rural sector pays significant property rates.
To provide an experienced rural voice around the council table.
