Why I'm standing

As a 40 year resident, four years now in Innes, I have been active in community building, neighbourhood support, Civil Defence, also liaising with council and community boards, I know the system. I have presented on liquor licensing, safer cohesive communities, been on working groups and addressed tribunals and planning commissions. I have confidence, knowledge, experience and contribute to my neighbours regularly, e.g. during covid setting up food exchange and transport help.

About me

As a former teacher, over a spectrum from primary to secondary to tertiary and tutoring in Paparua prison, I am trained to manage people and situations. With educational administrative experience, as the Frontline manager of staff at CPIT, now ARA, I am used to lateral thinking, finding solutions. As a resident in Innes I set up help for neighbours (happen to be Muslim) for support following Mosque terrorism. I also have wide media experience.

My priorities
  1. Cohesive communities which work together to achieve sustainable living and support one another.
  2. Ensure clean water and efficiencies in drainage, clean rivers, wastewater solutions which work.
  3. Ecological priorities: replace lost flora and fauna and build resilience by protecting biodiversity.
