Innes Subdivision
The Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Create a program that all can participate in to help revitalise and improve our public spaces, so all may benefit.

  • Encourage local businesses, start-ups and social enterprises who provide local products and local labour.

    Improve public space within our local retail areas and infrastructure to increase safety accessing them and within them.

    Quantify and support the voluntary sector of our workforce's contribution to the economy and society and fund positive growth of this sector.

  • Support sustainable local businesses, such as vegetable suppliers, pharmacies, essential services to operate equitably. Allow remediation.

    Increase checks on infrastructure, respond in a timely fashion to flooding events, old drain problems!

    Ensure we are caring with communities that welcome diverse cultural and age groups, with support. Liaise with Refugee and Migrant personnel.
