The Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Public engagement: start more consultation through residents and community groups, this can be achieved through surveys or face to face consults.

    Ethnic communities' representation and engagement: make sure more ethic groups stand for community board roles and have a voice in local issues.

    Internal operations: council should restructure the way in which departments operate and how many people work in each department to save money.

  • Open meetings for most meetings.

    Nobody at council or council-owned companies to be paid more than 6 times the lest paid.

    Not a policy – but encourage all people especially Māori to be involved with local government.
