Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board

The Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Queenstown-Lakes District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support Wānaka Wastebuster's waste minimisation initiatives.

  • Advocate strongly for Sticky Forest to remain a green space, free of development.

    Stronger enforcement for developers who cause storm water run off to contaminate our rivers, lakes and streams.

    Support Mt Iron reserve to become pest free, forested in natives and be an enviable recreational asset for Wānaka residents and visitors.

  • Open discussions in the community around water quality and preservation, including workshops on how we can improve these valuable assets.

    Biodiversity and pest control policies that best use the statistics on file of past use to go forward and inform the community.
