Why I'm standing

I am passionate about our district and am concerned our communities are not being represented as well as they need to be. Ratepayers and residents of the Upper Clutha deserve a strong and empowered Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board providing better communication, improved amenities, and sensible decision-making. I want to help make this happen.

About me

I've been a local businessman for 24 years and was a Community Board member for 12 years (six years as Chair) from 2004 to 2016. I'm refreshed and ready to offer my experience and knowledge to improve the effectiveness of the Community Board.

My priorities
  1. Strengthening the community board and ensuring its delegation from council is fully used.
  2. Spend public money prudently on essentials prioritised in a realistic and achievable programme.
  3. Getting things done rather than procrastinating and getting bogged down in bureaucracy.
