Why I'm standing

I believe that the Upper Clutha has unique character and needs strong representation at the Queenstown dominated council. I believe that I can help the Wānaka Community Board restore its standing and ability to represent local issues at council. I have seen how effective it has been in the past with good support from council and am keen to help it become so again.

About me

I have always had an interest in community challenges and development and have been active in local issues in my 24 years in Wānaka. I have submitted on many issues including the town centre masterplan, Wānaka 2020, annual and 10 year plans, active transport and public access issues. I am familiar with the Resource Management Act and district plan, and am a founding member of the Upper Clutha Tracks Trust, creating walking/cycling tracks in the district.

My priorities
  1. Work to ensure a fair share of council resources and timely delivery for the Wānaka Community.
  2. Support the re-empowerment and council support of the Community board to effective represent Wānaka.
  3. Work to deliver people-friendly town centre and active transport and public transport options.
