Takapū/Northern General Ward
The Wellington City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 15 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Three councillors will be elected from the Takapū/Northern ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

My vision is to have a city where people can freely flourish, but in order to do this, there are real issues for real people that must be addressed at the council level. I support reductions in cumbersome, controlling and ineffective rules and by-laws. I support healthy and open debate, freedom of expression and association, and the ability to discuss openly with council the effects of local and national issues on communities and individuals.

About me

I was born and raised in the Wellington region. I have a commerce degree in international business, with specialities in commercial law and Asian cultures and languages. I have developed an interest in politics and culture in recent years, and I believe that there is the growing need for new voices and fresh understandings of local and nation-wide issues in the local political environment to set us on the correct path for the next decade.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for the firefighters, the fire service, and other emergency services.
  2. Support good business and governance.
  3. Help the youth to combat youth social issues by supporting people-friendly climate change initiatives.
