Why I'm standing

I want to make a difference in a community that I love. My whānau and I enjoy West Harbour for its diverse wildlife and environment, friendly people, great shops and food, awesome art, beautiful heritage and the community spirit. I am passionate about strong, healthy, resilient communities, and the power that local voices can have. I believe I can help make West Harbour even better, and support both the community and the environment.

About me

I spent eight years working in the Three Waters team of Dunedin City Council. I have experience in planning, regulation/policy, and people and project management. I now work for an environmental organisation as a regional conservation manager across Otago and Southland. I have volunteered for a variety of committees, projects and organisations. I intend to use my knowledge of council processes, departments and workers to get good outcomes for people and the natural and built environment.

My priorities
  1. Resilience planning. Encouraging community and businesses to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining.
  2. Ensuring services in, to and from West Harbour are maintained and kept to baseline standard, or better!
  3. Listen to people and ensure council hears the views, opinions and local knowledge of the community
