Why I'm standing

I have lived here in Whakatāne my entire life, so only have our town's best interests a heart. I want to see a beautiful amazing area left for the next generation. A community that is confident in the knowledge of the history and culture. An area where our elderly feel safe and where our children live for adventures. Where the opportunity for local businesses are abundant and we are innovative leaders nationally and internationally.

About me

Why I'm going to be a great community board representative is I've grown up through intergenerational issues from the day I was born. These are the issues that plague our Māori communities today here in Whakatāne. I have been fortunate to overcome much diversity in my life. To now go on and lead friends and family still stuck in these places. They believe in me because they know where and watched how I've done it.

My priorities
  1. Minimise waste as climate change is a real threat. Minimise crime, future-proofing our rangatahi.
  2. More local, sustainable and innovative employment solutions.
  3. Affordable housing and more housing for low-income families. Make Whakatāne a world leader.
