Whangamatā Community Board

The Whangamatā Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Thames-Coromandel District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Support our youth that are struggling in the education system into a building apprenticeship or the Predator Free Apprenticeship Programme.

    Organise more events such as the Adventure Race during the off-season which bring people into our town and support local businesses.

  • Promote work experience and future apprenticeships for youth by leveraging Menzshed and Area School support.

    Support the building of a Dementia Unit at Moana House. Work with Waikato Reginal Council to provide a bus service in and out of Whangamata.

    Secure additional funding to provide financial support for the information centre to improve service and extend opening hours.
