Whangamatā Community Board

The Whangamatā Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Thames-Coromandel District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Continue to ensure funding for improvements to community facilities is properly allocated.

    Reduced/gratis community hall and land rental for charitable and sporting groups.

    Continue to support Children's Halloween at RSA, Christmas Parade, New Years' Eve Function, security and safe room for intoxicated.

  • Support the proposed Whangamatā Community Marae.

    Have a venue for our kids to socialise with their friends as the community currently does not offer such a place for our kids to go.

    Organise a music event for our under 18-year-olds at Williamson Park for New Years' Eve.
