Why I'm standing
Wellington is my home, where I have built a life since arriving here as a refugee in 2008. I know the city has a lot of potential, but we also face many challenges, including housing, transport, and the cost of living. We know that climate change is a big threat and we want to do our part. I want to take our issues and be Wellington's unapologetic voice in Parliament.
About me
I know the key role of an elected representative is to listen to people and try to understand everyone's perspective. That's the job. I have always been committed to making sure everyone's voice is heard. In the last three years as an MP, I've learnt how to be an effective representative for my communities and I want to use all these skills to improve life for Wellingtonians.
My priorities
- Help people struggling with the cost of living crisis, both on the ground and through parliament.
- Improve our transport options to both reduce congestion and address the climate crisis.
- Ensure we do everything we can to see all Wellingtonians in decent, affordable housing.
