Mayor of Auckland

The Auckland Mayor leads the governing body of Auckland Council. The mayor’s job is to promote a vision for Auckland and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees.   1. Ensure infrastructure supports free exchange and prosperity without council picking sides.
  2. Remove barriers that restrict business, housing, and innovation so individuals can choose freely.
  3. Make accurate public data the foundation of council decisions, ensuring fairness and accountability.
