Why I'm standing

Ensure transparency, accountability and due diligence in council management and allocation of financial resources to reduce excessive spending. Ensure there is no exorbitant unnecessary spending such as the $1.2 billion overspent on road cones of temporary traffic management, which are unremoved and cost council $5–6 per cone. Extrapolate that 100 road cones are left uncollected on side roads for years. Audit the $14 billion debt with an extra $3 billion in the last three years.

About me

I am an associate member of RSA and Lion's Club and Salvation Army and believe in a community sharing approach to community issues rather than an adversarial approach. I have a policy-making background with the European Commission and German Parliament on their immigration policy legislated in 2019, combined with business, management and sales experience in NZ as Telstra Clear sales executive, assistant manager of City Developments, AsiaPac manager of Fire Denyers, insurance broker and cafe owner, which adds experience and value.

My priorities
  1. Ensure Auckland Council long-term plans till 2034 and Watercare cost projections are within budget.
  2. Reduce unnecessary expenditure and conduct due diligence on rate and water increases of 48% in 2026.
  3. Implement accountability systems in awarding contracts via tendering and reduce overspend.
