Why I'm standing

I believe our community needs someone who has a pragmatic approach to council decision making with a long-term and wide community lens. We need to change councils from being by default a bureaucratic roadblock creator to a solutions enabler. Often the best solutions will come from local businesses and communities and council should facilitate outside delivery wherever possible rather than assume it knows best how to do things.

About me

I'm part of the local community that I want to serve, I live here, run my businesses here and am passionate about what we have in our region. My extensive business and governance experience will add value to the decision-making process with a pragmatic and solution-based approach with a focus on efficiency, smart expenditure and long-term value. My business experience means that I am comfortable working with all parts of our community.

My priorities
  1. Find the most practical and cost-effective solutions for the repair of the Rotoiti wall.
  2. Create a framework that allows farmers to utilise modern science to reduce nutrient runoff.
  3. Eliminate wasteful spending and unnecessary compliance processes and bureaucracy.
