Rotorua General Constituency
The Bay of Plenty Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 14 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). two councillors will be elected from the Rotorua constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I am standing because I believe in a future where our environment is protected, our economy is thriving, and our communities are supported. Clean water, fair rates and strong local business are priorities that matter for us all. I want to ensure Rotorua's voice is heard, our needs are understood, and our future is secure for generations to come.

I bring over 40 years of governance and leadership experience across housing, environmental, tourism, health, forestry and education sectors. I've led award-winning climate adaptation projects, significant housing development and wetland restoration, and built strong partnerships with farmers, industry and community. I know and respect our lakes. My skills in navigating complex issues, balancing diverse interests and delivering results are proven. With my deep connection to Rotorua, track record and achievements, I offer trusted, capable leadership.

My priorities
  1. Protect lakes and rivers with science-based solutions that safeguard water quality.
  2. Keep rates fair through cost control, transparent spending and smart investment in communities.
  3. Support local business, farming and trade training to grow jobs and strengthen economy sustainably.
