Why I'm standing

I have the passion, experience and love for our special town needed to be a councillor. I want Carterton to be a place my kids love and their kids will too. I believe having diversity around the table is important and I bring a strong focus on families and youth and work to ensure intergenerational thinking is always prioritised.

About me

I have a BCom/ BSc and governance experience on the council and on South End Schools' Board of Trustees. I have worked as a management consultant for Deloitte, I have been the co-ordinator for our local business association, I dreamt up and run A Very Carterton Christmas and I currently own Newman Electrical with my husband Jack. We have four kids and our family are heavily involved in the community.

My priorities
  1. Review economic development spend and focus on a needs-driven, local-led approach aiming for growth.
  2. Explore diverse revenue sources to reduce reliance on rates given the small ratings base.
  3. Partner with locals to facilitate and support vibrant, community-led initiatives.
