The Carterton District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of eight councillors and the mayor. I believe as a senior engineer with an extensive background in local government and private enterprise, I can bring a strong technical foundation to the table.
About me
I grew up in the Wairarapa and, after gaining valuable career experience elsewhere, returned to be closer to family and give back to my community. With extensive knowledge in Three Waters and strong management experience, I bring practical skills, clear decision-making and a commitment to responsible governance. I care deeply about the future of our region and will work hard to ensure services are sustainable and affordable.
My priorities
- Ensure WCCO serves community needs and stays financially viable for long-term local benefit.
- Fund core services rather than profit-driven ventures that burden local ratepayers.
- Prioritise investments based on viability, resilience and transparency over short-term gains.
