Why I'm standing

Carterton has lost its way and is in a bit of a rut. We need to revitalise our town centre and we need a bypass to ensure we become a destination town – not a through town. We also need a major retail park to attract the big name retailers. These two initiatives will reinvigorate our town and economy.

About me

I founded a technology company and grew it over 20 years to one that had international customers. When I sold it, I moved to the Wairarapa. Like other residents, I have invested my future here and want to protect that investment. I represent new thinking. I am articulate and passionate with a sense of urgency to get things done. These are critical qualities for a mayor.

My priorities
  1. Plan for an amalgamation with Masterton and South Wairarapa councils.
  2. Lobby NZTA to pay a greater share of rural road maintenance costs due to damage caused by trucks.
  3. Plan for a bypass around Carterton to reinvigorate our town centre.
