Why I'm standing

I have learned a lot about local government in my first term on council. I like to think I have contributed to good decisions around infrastructure, spending and financial management. I will be able to build on lessons learned in a second term.

About me

I have been in Carterton since 2008 and run Almo's Books in the High Street since 2010. I am involved in Carterton Rotary and in the business group until conflict of interest issues intervened. I had a long career with national and multinational businesses after graduating in Commerce from Massey. I am reasonable and logical and contribute to resolving issues that inevitably arise among a group of people with diverse priorities.

My priorities
  1. Encourage economic and population growth to underpin development of the high street.
  2. Protect the community if affordability issues lead to likely restructure of local government.
  3. Promote resilience in Carterton to flooding, inundation and drought resulting from climate change.
