Why I'm standing

I secured funding in 2024 for a targeted coastal environment plan to replace a large part of its 20-year-old predecessor and need to finish this work while advocating for better water allocation that considers environmental, cultural and community interests first.

About me

I am a consistent voice leading campaigns on responsible water use and marine species. I believe coastal policy must be more than an aspiration—it must be implemented and enforced. I want to safeguard marine environments out to 12 nautical miles and in Canterbury where over 40% of the jurisdiction lies in coastal waters. I call for allocation frameworks that recognise water as a living entity and uphold cultural, community and ecological equity beyond mere economic gain.

My priorities
  1. Coastal planning.
  2. Water allocation.
  3. Public health.
