Why I'm standing

I believe Tairāwhiti has had a tough couple of years and it is urgent that I build increased resilience in our landscapes, businesses and communities. I have supported farmers over the past five years through some of the region's most complex challenges, including post-Cyclone recovery, securing over $3 million investment for the region. With a wide network of support in government, funding and local community, I think I can add value at the table for GDC.

About me

I have a strong background in funding, science, education, conservation and experience working across both local and central government. I am a practical, positive and solutions-focused person. I am actively involved in the community as co-chair of the Eastern Whio Link conservation project. I am also a surfer and involved with many of the schools across the region as an educator. I bring honesty, grounded experience and a deep commitment to the East Coast.

My priorities
  1. Build resilience into landscapes through land-based solutions that retain water in the system.
  2. Build the infrastructure needed in the 30 year plan that supports business needs.
  3. Increase big business investment in the region and landscapes. Retain profits locally.
