Why I'm standing

Kia ora, I am standing to bring a strong local voice to Greater Wellington Regional Council, backed by experience as a Hutt City Councillor, Wainuiomata Community Board Chair, and member of the Whaitua Committee, where I helped shape our regional water strategy. In 2019, I stood with Community Boards to oppose consents for commercial water bottling from the Waiwhetu Aquifer, highlighting concerns about sustainability, water security, and the need for greater transparency.

About me

I am a senior manager with the Sisters of Compassion Group, an advisor to the Manaaki Ability Trust, a trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award, a Māori Warden and a classical tenor. I serve as a community voice to create lasting impact for both present and future generations. I will uphold the Regional Council's role as environmental regulator of local councils and advocate for reliable public transport, sustainable economic growth, and climate resilience.

My priorities
  1. Implement Te Mana o Te Wai, Whaitua recommendations and uphold the role of environmental regulator for a clean region.
  2. Boost economy, public transport, Cross Valley Link and sustainable food systems for a connected region.
  3. Cut carbon, build resilience and support RiverLink to create a climate resilient region.
