Why I'm standing

Having a pragmatic approach is exactly what the Greater Wellington Regional Council needs to guide smart regional development, safeguarding local interests for the future. Previous Forest Service and Conservation roles, a life-long interest in transport, current vocational consultancy work, and service as a JP bring valuable background knowledge and an ongoing perspective on community views. We need to do things better, explain ourselves better and get our region's vitality back. I want to be a part of that.

About me

I bring extensive local government experience as chair of Petone Community Board, and a record of community advocacy and networks. I know key players and officers in the local government sector from my terms on the board and the work involved. I'm set to go! Core attributes of mine are an emphasis on collegial constructive decision-making, listening, debating respectfully and working towards well-reasoned decisions. I commit to be informed, be prepared and be of service.

My priorities
  1. Drive improvements to create a more efficient, sustainable, future-proofed public transport system.
  2. Protect, enhance and promote regional parks for future generations.
  3. Foster economic growth and support the development of the Greater Wellington region.
