Why I'm standing

I am running for re-election to continue building a resilient, thriving Napier and Hawke's Bay. Having led through Cyclone Gabrielle and its recovery, I know the challenges our communities face and the strength we hold when we work together. My motivation comes from serving people, protecting our future, and ensuring that council decisions are grounded in fairness, accountability and long-term resilience.

About me

I will make a good elected representative because I bring proven governance experience, strong community connections and a record of collaborative leadership. As chair of the Hawke's Bay Regional Council and a lifelong Napier resident, I know how to navigate complex challenges while keeping people at the centre of decisions. I am driven by a vision of a resilient, thriving region where every community has the opportunity to flourish for generations to come.

My priorities
  1. Strengthen flood defences to keep Napier safe from future floods and storms.
  2. Protect waterways to ensure safe swimming and healthy ecosystems, including water security.
  3. Keep rates affordable to deliver real value for every dollar spent.
