The Hibiscus and Bays Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of eight members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Audit footpaths to ensure they are safe and prioritise the footpath upgrade work identified using Auckland Transport Capital funding.

    Complete the long-awaited Glenvar–East Coast Road realignment project with urgency.

    Oppose paid parking at Park and Ride facilities and in town centres.

  • Advocate for a full upgrade as previously planned for Vaughans and Okura River Roads.

    Continue relentless advocacy for the Glenvar and East Coast Roads upgrade project, which has funding earmarked for 2027 construction.

    Utilise the board's transport capital fund for footpath improvements and a crossing at Beach Road and Philson Terrace in Browns Bay.

  • Challenge for fit-for-purpose roads maintained for quality, maintained when needing repair, ie from storms, and maintained for expansion.

    Improve public transport with more bus services, using the successful hub systems, and keep them affordable.

    Install a pontoon jetty at Rothsay Bay beach or Waiake Beach to enable safe launching of watercraft with suitable trailer parking.
