The Howick Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of 11 members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. three members will be elected from your area.     Ensure balanced housing growth that meets capacity in line with appropriate infrastructure, green spaces and community facilities.

    Promote housing affordability by encouraging diverse housing types and working with partners on innovative solutions.

  • Allow residents to build and enjoy their land without interference or costly delays from the council.

    Cut red tape so building homes becomes faster, cheaper and free from endless council bureaucracy.

    Ensure zoning rules and infrastructure provide enough housing to meet demand without pushing up rates.
