Why I'm standing

Having lived in Totaravale for nearly 30 years, I believe now is the time to enhance social cohesion by embracing diversity, inclusivity and multiculturalism in all local board decision-making. A well-represented community will be more engaged and empowered to support and lead successful policy implementation that enhances community safety, social well-being and environmental outcomes. There is an opportunity to create a new Kaipātiki identity that celebrates cultural differences and create harmony for all.

About me

A good elective representative needs to think and act holistically to ensure a balance between economic, social and environmental outcomes. Good governance is not just about renewing or building assets. It is about creating local spaces and places built on trust, appropriate evidence and information to ensure value-for-money results. I believe I have the right technical skills, cultural and emotional intelligence, including 20 years' public service experience, to accomplish this.

My priorities
  1. Maximise use of the roading network by focusing on capacity and travel times, not just behaviour change.
  2. Increase urban vegetation and planting to mitigate climate change, flooding and soil erosion.
  3. Attract investment of knowledge and hi-tech businesses and new residents to boost the local economy.
