Why I'm standing

I have been a districtwide councillor for nine years and am shocked by the amount of policies and changes I have advocated for that have been reversed in the three years I have been on a community board. I bring experience in how the local government system works and frankly how to work the local government system for the better. I advocate tirelessly for affordability and support Kapiti to grow well, not just big.

About me

I am a fifth generation Kapiti Coaster living in Ōtaki. I have been active in decision making that makes Kapiti better. I am socially minded and care for those who are our most disadvantaged. I am a district licensing committee member and RMA hearings commissioner and represent Wellington for the Community Boards Executive. I’m also a mum, wife and nana who wants Kapiti to be the best it can be for all here.

My priorities
  1. Tackle rates rises by urgently reevaluating council debt and the costs and income imbalance.
  2. Bring the district growth strategy forward on the council work programme to reset plan zone changes.
  3. Ensure that local government sector reforms benefit the district and enable the council to work at its best.
