Why I'm standing

I am running for council because I believe Dunedin needs stronger financial management and clear priorities. Better financial decisions will lead to lower rates rises and ensure essential services are funded without burdening households. My focus is on transparency, accountability and common-sense solutions that protect our future. By reducing wasteful spending and concentrating on core infrastructure, we can create a more affordable and sustainable city for everyone.

About me

I bring persistence, practicality and a strong sense of community. Thirty years farming and fifteen years teaching have given me resilience, problem-solving skills and the ability to listen. I believe in financial responsibility, transparency and putting ratepayers first. My roots in Mosgiel-Taieri give me a clear understanding of local concerns, and I'm committed to fairness, honesty and common-sense decision-making that delivers value for Dunedin.

My priorities
  1. Continue the work towards a bypass and cut congestion to improve traffic and safety in Mosgiel.
  2. Manage pressure on infrastructure such as roads, footpaths and stormwater caused by rapid growth in Mosgiel.
  3. Support youth opportunities, safe recreation and family services as Mosgiel's community expands.
