Why I'm standing

I am concerned that spending is out of control leading to high rate increases and leaving citizens with the bill. It made me feel sick when I saw some councillors back slapping each other for doing a good job while passing on a rate increase of 10.5%. This culture needs sorting out as soon as possible and I will speak out each time.

About me

I volunteered when I was 13 training as a St John cadet leading first aid training. I also served on the Mosgiel St John executive committee. I served 21 years with Leith Round Table, the Arthur Burns School Committee, Taieri Junior Rugby Committee and as junior president with administration, coaching and refereeing, Taieri Swimming Club Committee and latterly as Taieri Network volunteer and trustee. I volunteered several years for KidsCan one-day mega fund raiser.

My priorities
  1. Monitor the progress of the rail and the transport hub and keep planning for a new truck route.
  2. Keep spending in control as I have worked extensively with budgets all my business life.
  3. Promote tourism and use expertise to grow a growth sector that other NZ regions cannot service correctly.
