Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board

The Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Climate change and resilience

Climate change poses a huge challenge for communities as more frequent extreme weather events require us to rethink how we live and where. Local authorities are at the forefront of efforts to respond, with responsibilities for environmental planning and regulation, as well as civil defence. Many councils have plans to reduce emissions in their area and are working to help their communities adapt to a warming world.

    Balance earthquake strengthening progress with city and landlord affordability, ensuring safety and sustainability.

    Prioritise civil defence in Mosgiel to safeguard lives and property from floods, storms and earthquakes through preparedness, coordination and resilience.

  • Establish a close working relationship with civil defence so they know that I will pitch in when needed.

    Establish good relationships with board members to monitor and minimise the effect of climate change.

    Gain good relationships in the community to assist with ideas to help adapt to climate change.
