Why I'm standing

I believe there is a better way to manage our land, water and air, and provide modern public transport. I believe that for too long we have been fighting the environment with outdated engineering and land use practices. I want to ensure that our land use enhances and sustains our environment, embracing kaitiakitanga.

About me

I have a background in engineering geology and worked for GNS Science for 35 years in the fields of landslide, earthquake and tsunami hazard and risk, geomorphic processes, and social science around energy use and critical minerals. I bring my knowledge to ensure that the natural environment, land use and the resources on which livelihoods are based are resilient to the forces of nature, including climate change.

My priorities
  1. Achieve high-quality water and biodiversity in waterways.
  2. Establish natural, non-engineered solutions to the impacts of hazards.
  3. Reserve high-class and LUC3 land for food production.
