Otago Regional Council

Dunedin Constituency
The Otago Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 12 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). five councillors will be elected from the Dunedin  constituency. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am a current councillor seeking re-election. I prioritise improving the state of our waterways, the environment and ensuring sound governance. I believe this can be achieved by a well-managed, functioning regional council. This is my goal.

About me

As a current first-term councillor, I have proven to be a strong environmental advocate and strategically influential. I have been co-chair of the finance and audit and risk committees. I am a chartered accountant, a long-time Fish and Game licence holder and have governance experience as a past director of City Forests Ltd and past chair of Presbyterian Support Services.

My priorities
  1. Improve the state of waterways and the environment.
  2. Ensure sound governance at the council table to enable a well-managed, functioning regional council.
  3. Ensure financial accountability and transparency.
