Why I'm standing

We live in an amazing district, however I worry that the decisions we make will not allow future generations to enjoy the healthy and safe environment that they deserve. I will always challenge us to do better and make truly long-term decisions: we shouldn't be afraid to count the real cost of growth and reprioritise accordingly, but we also need to factor in the consequences of short-term trade-offs. Finding the affordable balance is my profession.

About me

It's been an honour to serve Rolleston since 2019, however the rapid, continual growth of the Selwyn district is matched only by and the rapid, continual changes in legislation. I've spent years learning and then mastering those ropes, building strong local and regional relationships, communicating complex messages back to our community, and have plenty more left to give. If re-elected, I will continue to represent our people with determined realism, focused on the big picture.

My priorities
  1. Incentivise medium density builds that meet accessibility, energy and water conservation guidelines.
  2. Increase buses, walking and cycling in our towns to reduce carbon emissions and improve health.
  3. Openly discuss what climate change mitigation and adaptation means for individuals and communities.
