Why I'm standing

I'm excited to stand for election as the Thames ward councillor, with a vision of a vibrant, community-focused future, empowering us all to build a stronger, fairer and more prosperous Thames together. Growing up in Coromandel and then Thames as a teenager, I proudly attended Thames High School. This is my home; I know the people and the communities, and I want to give back to the place that raised me.

About me

With 30 years of experience as a business owner, employer and leader in the arts sector, I bring business management qualifications, community development experience and governance expertise. I commit to building strong collaborative relationships and communicating effectively. I am here to achieve sustainable solutions that balance economic prosperity, environmental quality and social cohesion. I bring a genuine dedication to our communities and a deep respect for te ao Māori and our diverse cultural heritages.

My priorities
  1. Ensure council effectively manages the new water reform legislation for future generations.
  2. Ensure community engagement and activation, making sure local priorities are heard in council.
  3. Ensure communities are resilient and ready for climate change and future weather events.
