Why I'm standing
I'm standing as an independent candidate for Mayor because Upper Hutt deserves leadership that is practical, strong, community-focused, and always puts people first.
About me
I have been a councillor for the last 12 years. I bring real-life experience as a parent, property owner, landlord, lifestyle block owner, and community volunteer. I still pull on the rugby boots, and I'm proud to support many local charities and boards. As Mayor, I will bring independent leadership, clear communication, and genuine commitment to making Upper Hutt a strong, proud, and connected community.
My priorities
- Reinvigorate Main Street by working with landlords to encourage upgrades while focusing on vacant shops.
- Encourage local ideas for growth by forming a task force to future plan Upper Hutt's sustainability.
- Encourage NZ Police to continue expanding their presence in Upper Hutt to ensure a feeling of safety.
