Mayor of Upper Hutt

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

Upper Hutt needs a trusted experienced voice as local government will be undergoing major changes in the next three years. The major reforms government is doing will bring about discussion on what local government will look like in the next 30 years.

About me

My experience will make sure Upper Hutt has a local and national voice in changing times. I give trusted leadership and leadership that brings discipline. The region also needs that type of leadership that I bring.

My priorities
  1. Lead discussion on the future of local government as reforms take effect.
  2. Continue to work with business and developers to make sure Upper Hutt continues to thrive.
  3. Work with leaders in the area and central government so Upper Hutt and the Wellington region thrive.
