Why I'm standing

I love Hamilton and the Waikato but we have environmental and economic threats, and I'm concerned about declining social cohesion. I want to contribute to us as a community responding to climate change and safeguard our health and long-term social and economic prosperity by living within nature's limits. I'm trying to be the change I want to see in the world, to make it better for us now and for our kids.

About me

I am curious and love learning about people and issues, and solutions. I get on well with most people, value collaboration, and have a scientific and environmental background that suits regional council. I listen well, have learned how to get things done in local government, and with constituents. There are very significant changes (reforms) underway and I'd like to use that knowledge and experience to help shape what's coming and mentor others.

My priorities
  1. Effective collaboration within and across councils and with parliament through shared goals and services.
  2. Build a resilient economy by design, safeguarding health, nature and long-term prosperity.
  3. Improve trust in council and community decisions using best practice democracy tools and technology.
